Was at Middleburg 4SAI May 1973 intake. One morning a chap in our platoon called Gary Wugerpfennig ( or ( Phuggerfenning ) was bust with a zol in his pocket. He was taken to Greefswald and we did not hear from him again. I heard that he died. Does anyone from 1973/1974 know anything about Gary ?. Cheers for this website.
I was sexually abused by "Colonel" Levin in 1975 at 1 Mil, ward 22.
Levin has been arrested. I would like to add to his woes. I would like him to be stripped of Canadian Citizenship on the grounds that he lied to the immigration department. I believe that I can do that, but I need your help.
I know how difficult it is to tell your stories; it took me years before I could even start to describe what it was like.
My thesis to the Canadian Immigration dept. is that Levin tortured people. I witnessed the phsyco torture of a man named Munday, who left the room, and drank a bottle of pool acid. We never saw him again; he went to Messina Hospital but I heard that he did not die. Poor bugger!
I want you all to tell your stories. I will collate them and take them to the Canadian Parliament. In the end I guess we will have to make sworn testimony.

I was there in 1970. 6 weeks up and 6 weeks back at 4 Field, a few times. So good it was almost a holiday camp. Had my first beer there in the pub. 2 per night!
It seems 'Colonel Levin' has been able to get away with his perverted 'examinations' and 'treatments' for almost 50 years! It's ironic that if the truth about his 'activities' (at 1 Mil hospital, Greefswald and elsewhere in South Africa) were known to the Canadians, he would "... not get a 'fair' trial." We all want to see justice done. That Levin has been able to manipulate Authority to get (at) exactly what he wants for so long is beyond belief. If/when he goes to jail in Canada, he'd be right at home with access to more boys/men he can 'help' with their 'problems'.

I have obviously stumbled into the horror of the mutiluations of Servicemen By Devil Levin(e) and the story of Greefswald behind this blog. We need personal testimonies like these to oblige the SA government, the SA press and even the Hague, if necessary, to hold him to account for the crimes he got away with in South Africa. Already there's an SA outfit researching for a documentary on Levin and looking for witnesses, and a Canadian producer is also looking for people prepared to tell their story on Canadian TV. He especially wants to interview Peter, if you're still out there. wow...interesting...I was known as "Stapes"....July 1973 intake...Old Manne gave me lots of shit..but I soon learned the tricks and gave some of their own medicine.. I was also seconded to personally make the morning Coffee for Sergeant Gouws...who will ever forget him...crazy bastard... and furthermore, I have the Tattoo of the scorpion to prove I was a Waldt boy..indicative of the star above the scorpion that we see the light. always, in a conversation between friends it cam up once again..where did you do your basics.?...when telling them my story that I klapped a corporal in my basic training on the second day for tipping my bed, and landed at 1 MIl for assessment by Levine, indentified me as a loony..off to Greefswaldt for 9 months to do hard labour but also good combat skills that saved my life in Angola..it become a long discussion as they want to know more and more and more...luckily I am no loony today as I personally think it did me very good...in fact , I am so proud of my tattoo that I had it made 3d by Catvondee in LA..
Stapes...in 1973 we were about 70 troops ...wonder where all of them are ...about the tattoos..we had them engraved with Battery acid from the tuffies..haha. whom can remember devils hill?..pole running...I thought at one stage I was going loony as I started giving the dassies names...
I also spent some time in the kitchen for my sins and became famous for my scones and bread baking...as I am a baker...many years after that in 1978 we were a section that had to look after the Johanna vd Merwe family they were gate guards at the upohu falls in the some dark place in Owambo Land...started baking bread there in a clay oven...used parrafine containers cut in half for the baking tins...wow...eventually I had to bake bread for the main base in Ruakana they sent a chopper once to collect bread for the big boy.
I was there amongst the 2nd intake in 1970? I was there when Hendrix died. I was in 2nd bungalow on the right coming through the entrance.Just finished Gordon Torr's book.Hazy memories are of being dumped some distance from camp and carrying tar poles back to base.Remember Johny Heyes and him going missing overnight.Remember going on search for him on the banks of the Limpopo.Remember peeing in 3 countries in under 5 minutes.Seem to think the dogs name was "Konkles" Crooked tail due to a skirmish with a baboon.Remeber group sessions with "Bubbles" Levin.Remember a visit by P W Both..monster of Defence at the time.Remember smoking it up on the back of the Bedford on the way to load river sand [for a neighbouring farmer?]Remember stunning sunsets and the view over the Limpopo and Shashi River.Have 5 pictures of the time 1 with troopie carrying rifle posing in front of some trophies.Were you there around that time?
I was a late arrival and stayed for 3 - months. Is there anyone out there such as BJ Pretorious, Gogsie, Cecil Davenport, Mark? Beneke, Clive van Druten, Danny Hartslief, or others I don’t remember? Gerrie (alias Ginger).
